Fernando Ronald Ratag also known as DJ Nando in both local and interlocal cities of Indonesia started his career back in 1997 around the same time as fellow DJ, Mark Eon.

Originally from Manado, the most northerly point of the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. This DJ is one like no other, son of the famous authentic Indonesian Kolintang band leader from The Mawenangs, Frans Ratag, who toured many countries including the UK where they performed for Queen Elizabeth back in ’74. Nando is a DJ with a long running musical background, a distinct and unique style of play, turntable technique and an ability to produce club hit after club hit, DJ Nando has risen from his early experiences in Manado to become one of the most respected senior DJ’s in now the city he calls home, Bogor, West Java.

Over the past 11 years Nando has seen his dedication to music take him from Manado to Bogor and on to bali in 2000 To become resident and Head DJ of the My Way Music Club where he went from strength to strength over the 2 years that followed.

working alongside the most famous Indonesian DJ’s and establishing himself as an up and coming front runner, Nando also had a hand in creating some of My Way Music Club’s most successful events and in doing so gained more and more experience as an event promoter, the industry and as a rock steady all around DJ capable of playing whatever sound was in demand at any said time.

On Nando’s return from Bali In 2002 along with some of the local scenes upcoming DJ’s created the Moonraver label, this provided a platform for Nando to utilise his past experiences to create a new concept of club event, setting a new trend for other Promoters and DJ’s to follow.

Nando has always continued on relentlessly with his studio productions, a style which cannot be put into a genre box, Nando creates tracks with inspiration from all corners of the music world, the biggest influences in Nando’s productions come from the pumping sound of tribal, the uplift of trance and the groove of breakbeat injecting all these styles into one genre twisting club anthem.

In 2003, Nando returned to be a resident DJ after almost 1 year by being appointed resident DJ at the locally popular “Laguna” in Bogor, working alongside top Indonesian DJ’s Romy, Riri, Mumu, Jockey Saputra, Guntur and Peppy.

In 2004 alongside local upcoming DJ Sapta, Nando created Mystical Vibe, which at the time was the biggest promotion label in Bogor and still exists today in 2010.

In 2005, Nando with some of the local scenes upcoming DJ’s most importantly DJ Rako, created another successful promotion and event management label – Moonraver which also still remains in existence today, under the control of former students.

In 2005 Nando instigated another return to the local promotion scene at the newly opened Centrum club in Bogor, having learnt from many past experiences Nando created many successful events as one of the main men of the organising committee. Which saw the club successfully bring many of the countries top DJ’s and also saw Nando playing alongside them once again.

In 2005 after his successes at Centrum, Nando took time out from his flourishing DJ / promotion career to get more involved the Indonesian motorbike racing industry, although still making occasional appearances Nando concentrated on adding yet another string to his bow, nando is now also famous for his unmatchable engine tuning skills and almost unbeatable race bikes which on more than one occasion scored top honours at many race events, Nando continues this legendary trend to this day.

In 2007 Nando made an emphatic return to the local resident DJ scene, taking control of new lipss, Bogor. The highlight of which being his individual 6 hour all night DJ performance, taking total control of the clubs frequency movement from start to finish and once again captured the hearts all of his local fans.

After his residency at Lipss, DJ Nando finally joined with his likeminded counterpart Mark Eon at mark’s long running EDJ label, a new alter ego was created, “The Everlasting DJ’s”

Today Nando still remains as one of the most senior and respected DJ’s from Bogor, teaching and guiding the cream of the new breed, everyone is always looking forward and anticipating his next club performance to see what fresh sounding sonic delights have been conjured up in his home studio behind closed doors.

Soon to become the new resident DJ at Bogor’s newest, biggest and best club “NuEmbrio” located at Bogor’s biggest tourist park “The Jungle” DJ Nando is always the first choice for such a position.
